Written, researched, and directed by Manoranjan — Sane Observer Metaverse Pvt. Ltd. Built in public, gate by gate, from the same valley J.C. Bose once walked.

The record. The spine of this library stands on named sources — R.C. Dutt’s famine ledger (1901), Patrick Geddes’s life of J.C. Bose (1920), P.C. Ray’s autobiography, the speeches and letters of the builders themselves — each cited where it is used, on the page.

The faces. Every portrait is archival, from the public record, graded warm to the house tone. No face on this site is invented.

The type. Playfair Display, Cinzel, Cormorant Garamond and DM Mono, with Noto Serif in nine Indian scripts — Devanagari, Bengali, Gujarati, Gurmukhi, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya, Tamil and Telugu. Thirteen families, every one under the SIL Open Font License, every one served from this site and not from anybody else’s. Eighty-nine faces are declared; a page fetches the ones it actually draws and never the rest.
