No one rides along.

The honest version: this site sets no tracking cookies. No advertising pixels, no third-party trackers riding along, and no behavioural profiling of any kind. There is one measurement script — Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a beacon and we are not going to call it anything else. It is cookieless, it is not tied to you across sites, and it counts page views rather than people. That is the whole of it.

What it does use is your browser’s local storage — on your device, and never sent to us — though any script running on this site can read it, which is why nothing that would hurt to lose is ever put there — to remember the things a library should remember: where you stopped reading, what you championed or flagged, the notes you post to the discussion (they stay on your device), and the coins you’ve earned. Clear your browser storage and all of it is gone; we keep no copy.
